Disposal at a glance
We have identified several ways to optimize our office space, including identifying properties for immediate and potential disposal.
The Directive on the Management of Real Property also ensures that our assets are planned, acquired, used and disposed of in a manner that is cost-effective and supports the delivery of programs and services to Canadians. This process ensures:
- a system based on priority
- that Crown-owned office assets are only considered for sale on the open market once explicitly identified on PSPC’s web page about federal properties for sale to the general public
Properties identified for disposal
We will continue to assess and optimize the performance of our portfolio as our clients’ long-term plans evolve. Other properties may be identified in the future.
Disposal list
A number of properties at various stages of the disposal process are included on the disposal list.
Some properties are available for disposal immediately. However, a number of properties are either under consideration (refer to the table that follows) or may continue to be in use before the disposal process is initiated. Some of these properties are included in the Canada Public Land Bank.
Properties are removed from this list once the disposal process is completed and they are no longer in our portfolio.
