Help with request to close payroll account
1. Who can request to close a payroll account?
A business owner or an authorized representative with level two authorization can request to close a payroll account.
2. When will the payroll account be closed?
The payroll account will be closed once all applicable payroll deductions are remitted and all information returns are filed.
3. How to request to close a payroll account?
- Select "Request to close payroll account" on the "My Business Account" welcome page.
- Enter the date (day month year) when all payroll stopped, on "Request to close payroll account – step 1 of 2".
- Select "Continue".
- After reviewing the information displayed on "Request to close payroll account - step 2 of 2", select "I agree" to confirm or "Correction" to make a change.
- If you select "I agree" to confirm, the payroll account will be closed once all applicable payroll deductions are remitted and all information returns are filed.
