Identification of spouse or common-law partner - Review

General information

This page displays your spouse's or common-law partner's social insurance number, temporary tax number, or individual tax number and their given name, new marital status and new effective date.

• If the account number is wrong press “Previous” to go back to the “Identification of spouse or common-law partner” page.  Re-enter your spouse or common-law partner's social insurance number, temporary tax number, or individual tax number.
• If the name of your spouse or common-law partner is not correct, your spouse must contact CRA in writing and request a correction.
• If the new marital status or effective date is incorrect press “Previous” until you go back to your “Change Marital Status” page.
• To speak to one of our agents, please call the helpdesk at 1-800-959-8281.

Definitions and explanations

Cancel
"Cancel" will take you back to the "Change Marital Status" page.  No new marital status information will be updated.

Previous
Selecting “Previous” will take you back to the “Identification of spouse or common law partner” page.

Submit
By pressing “Submit” you acknowledge that all information on the screen is accurate.  Your new marital status information will be updated to CRA’s systems.
