Job Summary
The Surveillance Analyst is a critical part of our Surveillant Unit providing the following in-office support.
Major responsibilities:
- Receive, analyse, record and identify trends and patterns of information provided by surveillance teams and/or operational reports.
- Determine the intelligence value from a surveillance perspective, analyse information from various sources, and provide information to surveillance teams and/or direct the information to the appropriate investigative desk.
- Maintain the surveillance information database by researching/analysing/compiling all available resources and create and maintain the surveillance target coding system.
- Liaise with surveillance teams and Intelligence Officers by giving/receiving information on targets including confirming target identities by continuously reviewing operational imaging files.
- Conduct research and analysis to produce reports based on the incoming information.
- Assess the relevance of the information through preliminary analysis; organize and integrate into established reporting parameters.
- Participate in working groups for development and implementation of procedures and communications related tothe surveillance processes.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with the surveillance teams to ensure they remain operationally effective and efficient.
Education
- Undergraduate degree and one (1) year of experience.
- College diploma and three (3) years of experience.
- High school diploma and five (5) years of experience.
The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.
If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense through a recognized credential assessment service.
Note: Any higher level of education could be recognized as experience.
Experience
- *One (1) year of relevant experience, or
- **Three (3) years of relevant experience, or
- ***Five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Experience in research and analysis† and report writing.
- Experience in multitasking in a high demand environment without loss of effectiveness or efficiency.
†Research and analysis is defined as experience in researching information via various databases and experience in analyzing information in order to make recommendations.

Conditions of Employment
- This position requires shift work, including some weekends and paid overtime.
- In addition, some travel within the region is required based on operational needs.
