Work Environment
The Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre (ITAC) is a Government of Canada intelligence fusion centre that contributes to public safety through the assessment of the terrorism threat to Canadians and Canadian interests abroad.
ITAC embraces diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Analysts from throughout the GoC bring their diverse views, innovative approaches and varied experience to contribute to ITAC’s critical role in assessing terrorism threats to Canada and Canadian interests abroad.
ITAC is co-located at the National Headquarters of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) in Ottawa, Ontario.

ITAC recruits indeterminate and term employees as well as offers secondment / interchange opportunities for their Intelligence Analyst positions. Intent of the Process
This process is intended to staff multiple intelligence analyst positions.
Major Responsibilities
- Research, organize, analyze, and assess classified and open-source information for the production of intelligence.
- Work in partnership with GC stakeholders in the production of highly-valued threat assessments.
- Design and deliver presentations on topics of expertise to our clients and partners on a national and international level.
- Represent ITAC in discussions/exchanges with Canadian and foreign security and intelligence community.
Education
- Undergraduate degree.
The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.
If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense through a recognized credential assessment service.
- Significant experience* in performing research and analysis on national security and/or policy issues.
- Significant experience* in drafting written documents such as intelligence assessments, briefing notes, reports, discussion papers, or research papers.
- Experience in providing written and verbal briefings to management at the Director (EX-01) level or above.
- Experience in working with internal and external stakeholders representing diverse interests.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed these activities over a combined period of at least four years.

Education
- Post-graduate degree from an accredited learning institution in intelligence studies, natural sciences, social sciences, public administration, international relations or another degree relevant to the position would be an asset.
Experience
- Experience performing research and analysis and/or drafting written documents on one of the following: defence, intelligence, global affairs, policing.

Conditions of Employment
- Willingness to work overtime on occasion, possibly on short notice; and
- Willingness and ability to travel within Canada and internationally.
- Interchange / secondment candidates must:
- Occupy a position within a federal organization, including separate agencies, Crown corporations, the RCMP and Canadian Armed Forces;

- Agree to the terms and conditions of the Secondment Agreement or the Interchange Canada Program Letter of Agreement;

- Secondment and Interchange definition and information:
- A secondment is a mechanism for temporary at-level mobility through which persons employed in separate agencies and Crown corporations may be assigned to work at ITAC, and vice versa.
- An interchange is a mechanism for temporary at-level cross-sectorial mobility between the core public administration and organizations outside of the core public administration, such as ITAC.
- Participants remain subject to the terms and conditions of their substantive employment in the home organization, including continuing to receive the same salary and benefits from the home organization.
- The duration of this assignment is two (2) years, with possibility of extension. Because they are lateral in nature, the candidate’s substantive salary should fall within or be close to the following salary scale: $84,050 to $102,250.
