This infographic illustrates how the current review bodies (the Security Intelligence Review Committee, the Office of the Communications Security Establishment Commissioner and Civilian Review, and the Complaints Commission) would be transitioned to the proposed new National Security and Intelligence Review Agency. The infographic also illustrates the proposed collaboration and cooperation between the new National Security and Intelligence Review Agency and the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians.
The mandate of the new National Security and Intelligence Review Agency would be to review all national security and intelligence activities across Government.
The Security Intelligence Review Committee and the Office of the Communications Security Establishment Commissioner’s review and complaints functions would be folded into National Security and Intelligence Review Agency.
The Civilian Review and Complaints Commission National security’s review and complaints investigations functions would move to National Security and Intelligence Review Agency.
The non-national security Civilian Review and Complaints Commission’s review and complaints functions would continue as normal.
The National Security and Intelligence Review Agency and the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians would collaborate and cooperate.
