Biodiversity education resources for grades K to 12
Biodiversity for every age: explore, learn, protect
Whether you’re an educator or a parent, you’re in the right place to explore the wonders of biodiversity with your learners. We’ve organized our resources into three age groups so you can find age-appropriate content that sparks curiosity, deepens understanding, and inspires action for the natural world.
Biodiversity (4 to 7 years old)
Young children will explore the idea that biodiversity means all living things – from tiny bugs to big trees! They’ll learn why nature is so amazing, why it’s important to care for nature and how they can help protect it through simple actions at home and at school.
Biodiversity (8 to 12 years old)
Kids will dive deeper into biodiversity: discover how nature provides important services like clean air, and shelter, learn about the threats biodiversity faces, and find out how their choices and actions can help protect it.
Biodiversity (13 to 17 years old)
Teens explore biodiversity at all three levels- genetic, species and ecosystem - and learn how these layers work together to support life on Earth. They'll dive into the concept of ecosystem services, understand the major threats facing biodiversity today, and explore real actions they can take to help. Protecting biodiversity not only supports the planet – it supports our health, well-being and future too.
