Education & Skills Online is an assessment tool for literacy, numeracy and problem solving in technology-rich environments (a combination of problem-solving and digital skills). The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the European Union developed this tool.

TOWES – Sector Series are paper-based assessments that apply to a variety of industries and occupational groups. Skills targeted are reading text, document use and numeracy. TOWES is the sole property of Bow Valley College. It is for sale through authorized distributors only.

TOWES – Web-based assessments use up-to-date science in literacy and numeracy skill development. The tools assess the skills of reading text, document use and numeracy and deliver precise results in real time.

Employability Skills Assessment Tool (ESAT) is a tool for assessing, tracking and supporting the development of nine employability skills, including teamwork and adaptability. Futureworx Society developed the tool.

Communications and Math Employment Readiness Assessment (CAMERA) is a set of tests that provide information about adult learners’ abilities to manage workplace communications and numeracy tasks. It uses real-life workplace documents and tasks to test and develop adult learners’ skills. Skills targeted are document use, reading text, numeracy, and writing. Preparatory Training Programs of Toronto developed this assessment.

Essential Skills Mobile App Assessment Tool uses a broad set of questions to help rate proficiency in nine essential skills. Participants receive a star rating for each skill along with information on careers in trade and technology that best suit their strengths. The tool targets reading, document use, numeracy, writing, oral communication, working with others, thinking, digital technology and continuous learning. Skills-Compétences Canada launched this application.
