Share your thoughts: Flood Risk Awareness Digital Resource
Current status: Open
Opened on January 2024 until March 31, 2026
Public Safety Canada (PS) is creating a Flood Risk Awareness digital resource to provide people in Canada with centralized access to information on flood risks as well as resources and suggestions on how to protect their homes and communities. Work related to the planning and development of the digital resource is underway.
Targeted engagement with various groups will inform the development of the digital resource. Engagement will explore experiences of flooding and flood protection behaviours, how to effectively communicate flood risk data, and how to encourage the adoption of flood protection measures at the property-level among the public. Engagement will take place through interviews, focus groups and a national survey to inform the content and design of the digital resource. Statistics Canada is supporting PS by conducting several engagement activities regarding the digital resource.
