Electric Vehicle Affordability Program

Up to $5,000 in 2026 (declining thereafter) is available at the point of sale to Canadian individuals and businesses for the purchase or lease of eligible light-duty EVs with a final transaction value of $50,000 or less for vehicles made in countries that have free-trade agreements with Canada. There is no limit for Canadian-made EVs. Most personal vehicles, like cars, SUVs, and light pick-up trucks fall into the light-duty vehicle category.

Federal tax incentive for businesses
