Tips and tricks about the 2023 Call for Proposals (CFP)

Before applying to a Call for Proposals

Does your organization have a project idea which would help enhance youth civic engagement through volunteer service? Read the tips and tricks below to help you learn more about Canada Service Corps and funding opportunities that are currently available!

  1. Learn more about the types of volunteer opportunities available through CSC.
    • Visit the About CSC page and learn more about program objectives as well as the two types of opportunities made available through CSC (service placements and micro-grants).
  2. Discover examples of projects funded by CSC.
  3. Determine if your organization is eligible to receive funding from CSC.
    • Go to the Call for Proposals page and carefully read the description and eligibility criteria of the funding streams that interest you.
  4. Still have questions? Check out the FAQ.
    • Review the Frequently Asked Questions to answer any questions you may have. These will be updated throughout the Call for Proposal.  

You have completed steps 1-4? Don’t wait any longer and submit a project proposal during the Call for Proposals!

Ready to apply?

  1. Take note of the December 19, 2023 deadline for submitting your application.
  2. Read the applicant guides carefully and make sure you have all the information and documents needed to start your application.
  3. Consult the Grants and Contributions Online Services (GCOS) User Guide and create an account.
    • To create a GCOS account, organizations need to have a CRA business number or registration number.
    • Indigenous organizations that do not have a business or registration number can apply to the CFP by email or mail.
    • Note that organizations are encouraged to create a GCOS account as soon as possible as it may take up to two weeks to finalize your GCOS account.
  4. Complete and submit your CSC application via GCOS.
