Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategy
Peter Bruce
Peter Bruce is the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategy at Shared Services Canada (SSC). Before this, he was Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Projects and Client Relationships at SSC.
Prior to joining SSC in August 2013, Peter was the Vice President of Information Management and Information Technology at Canadian Food Inspection Agency and also the Chief Information Officer at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. Prior to this, he was the Deputy Chief Information Officer for the Government of Canada. He has also worked for the Government of Ontario on Executive Interchange from July 2000 to July 2002.
Peter has extensive experience with the Federal Public Service having worked in a range of departments over 25 years. He served as the CIO for the Federal Department of Justice and Chief Technology Officer for Library and Archives Canada. Throughout his public service career, Peter has been focused on improving government programs, services and operations through the effective use of information technology.
Peter has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Queen's University.
Acting Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Service Management and Data Centres
Patrice Rondeau
Patrice Rondeau is the acting Senior Assistant Deputy Minister of Service Management and Data Centres at Shared Services Canada (SSC).
Before this, Patrice served as Director General of Development and Production and was Enterprise Data Centre Horizontal Lead.
In 2011, when SSC was created, Patrice and many of his Information Technology colleagues transferred to the new department. Patrice was asked to lead the Social Portfolio through its transformation to align IT operations across Networks and IT Security Operations, Data Centre Services and Common Business Services.
In 2010, Patrice worked at Employment and Social Development Canada as the Chief Technology Officer.
Patrice joined the public service in 2007 and spent his first three years leading IT Infrastructure Operations at Public Works and Government Services Canada.
Prior to joining the public service, Patrice worked at Canada Post as the Director of large IT-enabled projects. He also spent five years in the private sector as the Vice President of Application Development and Maintenance at Innovapost. However, most of his career was spent in the military as an Aerospace Officer.
Patrice holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from the Royal Military College of Canada and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Systems) from the Royal Military College at Saint-Jean.
Acting Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer
Elizabeth Tromp
Elizabeth Tromp is the acting Senior Associate Deputy Minister of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer at Shared Services Canada (SSC).
Before this, Elizabeth served as Assistant Deputy Minister of Operations Planning and Coordination, Operations Branch at SSC.
Prior to joining SSC, Elizabeth was at Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, where she held the position of Assistant Deputy Minister, Office of the Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-status Indians, and most recently also held the position of Associate Senior Assistant Deputy Minister for Regional Operations.
Elizabeth Tromp joined the Public Service in 1987 and has over 20 years of executive experience spanning policy, program development, central agency oversight, operations, and corporate management within the federal government.
Elizabeth has a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from Carleton University as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Political Studies and French from Queen’s University and Université Laval.
Assistant Deputy Minister, Cyber and Information Technology Security
Raj Thuppal
Raj Thuppal is the Assistant Deputy Minister, Cyber and Information Technology (IT) Security, at Shared Services Canada (SSC).
Before this, Raj served as Director General, Cyber and IT Security Transformation in SSC. In this role he was responsible for Cyber and IT Security program planning, design and implementation, risk management and compliance for Government of Canada IT infrastructure. Raj provided oversight of the SSC Cyber and IT Security program budget, led the transformation of cyber and IT security services, and ensured incorporation of supply chain integrity controls and IT Security by Design across all enterprise services and projects, with emphasis on cloud security.
Since joining the public service in 2003, Raj worked at the Department of National Defence and the Canada Revenue Agency. Prior to joining the public service, Raj worked in various engineering roles at Marconi/FORE Systems Ottawa.
Raj holds a Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering from India.
Assistant Deputy Minister, Networks and End User
Pankaj Sehgal
Pankaj Sehgal is the Assistant Deputy Minister, Networks and End User, at Shared Services Canada (SSC).
Before this, Pankaj served as the Chief Information and Security Officer in SSC where he was responsible for Information Management, Application Development and Database Administration, Real Property, Accommodation, Asset and Material Management, Accessibility and Desktop Services, and Departmental Security. Pankaj provided oversight of the SSC Chief Information and Security Office program budget, led Wave 0 of the Email Transformation Initiative, and enabled employee driven innovation as Chair of SSC’s Innovation Fund Committee.
Since joining the public service in 1993, Pankaj has also worked at Public Works and Government Services Canada.
Pankaj holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration majoring in High Technology from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor’s degree in Administration from the University of Regina.
