See below for what to expect when you apply.
Applying online
You will be asked general and specific questions about your employment history. Use the STAR method to ensure that you include information that will help managers evaluate your application and potentially qualify you for the next stage in the selection process.
Written exam
In most processes, you will be required to take a written exam if your application is selected. If so, you will receive an email inviting you to take an exam to test your skills.
Interviews
You will be invited to an in-person or video interview with the recruitment managers, followed by in-depth technical and values interviews if necessary. These interviews may include a practical exercise such as a written or technical task.
Reference check
We will contact your references by phone or in writing to learn more about your work experience and interpersonal skills.
Confirmation of qualification
You will receive an email informing you whether or not you are in a pool of partly or fully qualified candidates. Managers looking for candidates can then make you an informal job offer.
Conditions of employment
Before you receive an official job offer, you will need to:
- complete the security clearance forms
- provide identification documents
- provide details regarding working conditions such as the ability to lift heavy loads, overtime work, and driver’s licence
Evaluation of your language level
If you apply for a bilingual position, your proficiency in your second official language will be evaluated through a series of specific reading, writing and oral interaction tests.
Note for veterans: You may be evaluated even if you have a second-language profile from your military service.
Offer of employment
We will send you a formal offer and determine the date on which you will start work.
If you do not receive an offer, we will keep your application for future needs.
