Description of the objective
Issue
The Public Service Superannuation Regulations (PSSR) set out the requirements for providing proof of age and proof of relationship (marriage and common law) for the purpose of the Public Service Superannuation Act. Current regulatory requirements related to documentary evidence are antiquated and do not align with other government programs.
Description of the regulation
Modifications to the PSSR are needed to modernize and simplify the regulatory requirements to provide proof of age and proof of relationship.

Public consultation opportunities
Public consultations are not appropriate as this issue is internal to the management of the public service pension plan. The modification will have no perceptible impact on the members under the plan.
