Findings of the review committee

Complaints about partisanship in government advertising are managed by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. Advertisements that are the subject of a complaint are assessed against the advertising review criteria.

Complaints and review findings are updated in January, April, July and October.

Findings of the review committee: The information presented in the television ad was compared against information available on the Government of Canada’s website as well in supporting legislation including the Firearms Act. The committee determined that the advertisement meets all advertising review criteria and no further action is required.
