Departments are reminded to distribute this notice to employees at your headquarters and regional offices who are involved in the administration of the isolated posts allowances.

The results of the Statistics Canada survey of the Living Costs Differential (LCD) Indexes for the Northwest Territories Region including two Northern British Columbia and six Nunavut posts during February and March 2009 were recently communicated to the National Joint Council Isolated Posts and Government Housing Committee (NJC-IPGHC). A total of thirty one (31) isolated posts were involved in this review and the results can be summarized as follows:

No change in LCD level – 15 posts	Alert, NU Cambridge Bay, NU Eureka, NU Fort Liard, NWT Fort Nelson, BC Fort Providence, NWT Fort Simpson, NWT Hay River, NWT Inuvik, NWT Kugluktuk, NU Nahanni Butte, NWT Norman Wells, NWT Toad River, BC Wha ti, NWT Yellowknife, NWT
Increase by one LCD level – 8 posts	Aklavik, NWT Behchoko (Rae), NWT Fort Mcpherson, NWT Fort Resolution, NWT Fort Smith, NWT Gjoa Haven, NU Taloyoak, NU Tulit’a, NWT
Increase by two LCD levels – 8 posts	Deline, NWT Fort Good Hope, NWT Lutselk’e, NWT Paulatuk, NWT Sachs Harbour, NWT Tsiighetchic, NWT Tuktoyaktuk, NWT Ulukhaktok (Holman Island), NWT

These changes are effective January 1, 2010.
