Avoid payment delays with direct deposit

Did you know your pension cheques could be delayed in the event of a postal service interruption? To avoid any possible delays in getting your cheques on time, enrol in direct deposit for your Government of Canada payments. Once enroled, your payment will be deposited directly to your bank account as soon as it is issued.

To enrol, you can call the Pension Centre at 1‑800-561-7930 or send them a written request with a void cheque to:

Public Works and Government Services Canada
Government of Canada Pension Centre – Mail Facility
PO Box 8000
Matane QC G4W 4T6

Benefits of direct deposit:

Fast and convenient
– Your money is quickly deposited into your account and immediately available to you.
Secure
– Unlike cheques, there is virtually no risk of your payment being lost, stolen or damaged.
Reliable and on time
– As soon as the payment is issued, it is deposited into the account of your choice.
