Postal service interruption

(Update) Postal Service Interruption

The postal service interruption at Canada Post Corporation has ended. As Canada Post is working to stabilize operations, members can continue to expect delivery delays. Please continue to refer to the information below for more information on how to avoid delays for your pension and group insurance benefits.

For an update on the mail delivery backlog, please refer to the Canada Post website.

Information on your monthly pension payment and other pension payments

A postal service interruption could delay the receipt of your monthly pension cheques and other pension payments. During this interruption, all payments and cheques will be mailed to you as usual, however, please be aware that you may experience a delay in their receipt.

Direct deposit: If you receive your pension payment by direct deposit, your payment will not be affected.

To avoid a delay, you are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit. Direct deposit ensures receipt of your pension payments in your bank account, on time, every month. To enrol in direct deposit, please contact the Government of Canada Pension Centre.

Information on your group insurance benefits

Interruptions to postal services could delay your benefit claim submissions and payments. To avoid delays, whenever possible, submit your claims electronically.
