Promising practices
A promising practice project tests and evaluates new methods to improve support for survivors of gender-based violence. The aim is to strengthen and support the gender-based violence sector – i.e. the people, organizations, networks, coalitions, and governments working to end this type of violence.
These projects also help address gaps in supports for Indigenous and/or underserved groups of victims and survivors in Canada, as well as those at higher risk of experiencing violence.
Community-based research
A community-based research project aims to collect data on the lived experiences of women and gender-diverse people to inform the supports and services for those experiencing gender-based violence.
It’s a project that focuses on understanding the root causes and systemic forms of gender-based violence, while also considering the different ways people experience it.
The community-based projects build knowledge in order to help address the specific needs of underserved and at-risk populations in the gender-based violence sector. This is essential for understanding the best pathways to safety.
