The work is done outdoors 95% of the time, in a variety of weather conditions. Tasks are divided as follows:

• 50%: customer service (answering questions and providing information)
• 30%: interpretation services (presenting various monuments and important sites in the capital, such as the National War Memorial and Centennial Flame)
• 10%: guided tours (accompanying groups of visitors from all over the world)
• 10%: participation in special events (Canada Day and Changing of the Guard ceremonies)

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

• be a college or university-level student
• be a Canadian citizen
• be fluently bilingual in French and English
• meet the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) eligibility criteria

Location: Capital Information Kiosk located at 90 Wellington, Ottawa, Ontario, and at various outdoor locations

Salary: $18.17 per hour
