Budget 2019 Supplemental Funding in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021
As announced in the 2019 Federal Budget, the CAPF will receive an additional $16 million over two years, starting in 2019-2020, to support the delivery of more arts events across the country. For a two-year period, this investment will provide additional support for professional arts festivals, performing arts series presenters, and presenter support organizations, as well as new arts presenters in under-served regions. This additional funding will enable more Canadians to see, hear and celebrate the talents of Canadian artists and have access to artistic experiences that reflect Canada’s diversity. It will also help promote the talents of Canadian artists in more communities across the country.
This funding will be provided as supplements to the grants and contributions of the CAPF’s current recipients (Programming and Development Streams).
The supplemental funding will be provided for a two-year period only (2019-2020 and 2020-2021) as the CAPF grants and contributions budget has not been increased on a permanent basis.
The supplemental funding awarded to current CAPF recipients is intended to support ongoing activities as well as new initiatives being planned and developed for 2019-2020 or 2020-2021, with the aim of increasing their feasibility and impact.
Please contact the closest regional office of the Department of Canadian Heritage for more information about this funding opportunity and to determine how and when you should submit your application.
