Update - Limits of government assistance

In exceptional circumstances, CCSF can fund up to 90% of eligible expenses per project. For more information on the specific funding criteria related to these exceptional circumstances, please contact a CCSF program officer at the nearest Canadian Heritage regional office before applying.

New requirements for new renovation and construction projects

Given the financial challenges faced by infrastructure projects, including the impact of cost overruns, the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund will implement new requirements for new renovation and construction projects with a total cost of $5 million or more effective May 1, 2023:

• Supporting documentation, such as quotes and estimates, must be less than six months old from the date of the funding application submission.
• Funding decisions will only be made when 80% of the total project funding is in place, including the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund recommendation.

Applicants are encouraged to contact a CCSF program officer at their nearest regional office of the Department of Canadian Heritage prior to applying.
