Dedicated Fund for the English-Speaking Communities of Quebec — Development of Official Language Communities

The Dedicated Fund for the English-speaking communities of Quebec subcomponent supports engagement by community organizations and strengthens their ability to act while encouraging innovation and excellence.
Who can apply
Eligible organizations must represent the interests of the English-speaking communities of Quebec. Priority will be given to organizations operating in Quebec whose missions, mandates or the majority of their activities support the development and enhancement of English-speaking communities of Quebec. It may also be given to projects for English-speaking communities in underserved regions. These organizations include:
- Canadian non-profit organizations, duly registered
- associations, institutions or Canadian foundations, or
- Canadian for-profit organizations (solely for non-profit activities)
The following are not eligible:
- individuals (except in the case of the initiative “Building Bridges through arts, culture, and heritage programs”, where they may be the final recipients)
- government organizations
- universities
- schools
- school boards, and
- foreign institutions and organizations
Eligible projects
Priority is given to projects that address current issues, are innovative and help develop areas that are unique or unexplored. Projects can be for one-time activities or multi-year projects.
Priority is also given to projects that include:
- capacity building in orphaned sectors or emerging areas of activity
- equity for English-speaking visible minorities and ethno-cultural communities
- support for English-speaking communities in isolated and remote regions
- specific priorities as identified by the English-speaking community through a consultative process
Application deadline
Project funding
November 15
When an application deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or statutory holiday, it is extended to the following working day.
How to apply
Applicants are required to:
- review the Application Guidelines — Community Life component — Cooperation with the Community Sector subcomponent, and
- contact the regional Quebec office of the Official Languages Support Programs of the Department of Canadian Heritage to request a funding application package and to submit the required documentation (see below)
