Cooperation with the Non-Governmental Sector — Second Language Learning

The Cooperation with the Non-Governmental Sector subcomponent aims to increase the production and dissemination of knowledge, methods and tools to support teaching of a second language. The subcomponent supports projects or initiatives designed to have an impact on many communities, preferably in more than one province or territory, or nationwide.

Who can apply

To be eligible for programing or project funding, your organization must be:

  • a Canadian non-profit organization, duly registered;
  • a Canadian non-profit professional association.

Individuals and government bodies, schools, school boards and foreign organizations are not eligible.

Eligible expenditures

Eligible expenditures include:

  • costs related to research and the dissemination of knowledge, methods and tools to support the teaching of English or French as a second language that are to facilitate learning; and
  • administrative overhead related to the funded activities.

The following expenditures are not eligible:

  • capital expenditures;
  • course development; and
  • activities with an international dimension.

Programming funding

October 1st

When an application deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or statutory holiday, it is extended to the following working day.

Project funding

November 22

When an application deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or statutory holiday, it is extended to the following working day.
