National Working Group for Women Employees
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is looking at ways to strengthen and support women at CSC. As part of this, we created the National Working Group for Women Employees in 2019.
Working group’s mandate
The National Working Group for Women aims to identify and address the barriers faced by women working at CSC with respect to :
- recruitment and retention
- professional development
- work-life balance
The working group will develop an action plan to address the challenges identified through consultations with employees .
Working group’s vision
CSC is committed to developing a strong, diverse, and inclusive workplace that reflects the evolving Canadian population, and to fostering a workplace where all employees feel safe and respected.
National Employment Equity Survey of Women Employees advisory committees
This survey was used to inform CSC of the issues some women face. It provided insight into areas that need more focus and/or to be addressed. It was an opportunity to hear from women about their experience at CSC to help bridge the gender gap and build a representative and inclusive workforce.
