Federal Student Work Experience Program
The Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) offers full-time students work experience in the federal public service. You cannot apply directly to CSC for an FSWEP position.
Learn about FSWEP's benefits, eligibility criteria and application process on the GC jobs website:
If successful, FSWEP places your application in its recruitment inventory. When there is a job opening, CSC selects candidates from the inventory for further assessment.

Co-operative education placement
If you are in a co-operative education (co-op) program at an academic institution, you may qualify for co-op placement.
Learn about co-op's benefits, eligibility criteria and application process on the GC website:
If the Public Service Commission of Canada recognizes your program, you should:
- check for available positions on the notice boards at your campus' career centre

CSC will contact the educational institution directly to place its requests for co-op students.
