About NDWCC
In 1945 Treasury Board established the official charitable giving across all Federal Departments with United Way as the Service Provider.
The charitable giving campaign has grown over the years into the campaign that we now know as the National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC).
The NDWCC falls under the overarching campaign of the Government of Canada’s Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC).
2024 Goals
The new NDWCC Champion has set two goals for the Department for this campaign season.
- The Department to be 100% canvassed; and
- The Department to raise over $2 million dollars.
2024 Strategies
- Raise Awareness;
- Run In-person Events; and
- Run Virtual Events.
How we did last year
Through the hard work and generosity of the Defence Team we reached our goal of being 100% canvassed and raised over $ 2.1M in the 2023 campaign. Funds raised went towards various Canadian charities such as (but not limited to): United Way, Canadian Cancer Society, Health Partners, Centraide Outaouais and the Ottawa Food Bank
The NDWCC falls under the umbrella of GCWCC. Our campaign accounted for approximately 7% of the total funds of $28.7 million that we raised last year.
