If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), here’s your chance!

Take charge of your own health this summer and create a blueprint for success, with help from LifeSpeak’s summer campaign, “Be the CEO of Your Health”.

Who: The LifeSpeak summer campaign is available to all Military and Civilian personnel of the Department of National Defence

What: “Be the CEO of Your Health” is organized into 3 modules, and contains videos and other information, from health-care practitioners and experts in the fields of exercise and nutrition:

     1. Prevention and health risk factors;
     2. Managing health conditions; and
     3. Lifestyle habits for your best health.

When: July 13 – August 23, 2020

Where: The summer campaign can be accessed through the LifeSpeak website or the mobile app (available for download on iPhone and Android devices).

Why: To take command over your health and learn helpful tips to help keep you and your family happy and healthy this summer!

Why LifeSpeak?

Great question! LifeSpeak is a web-based service that offers anonymous access to hundreds of short videos. They feature leading experts discussing everyday issues that affect all of us from time-to-time.

LifeSpeak is available to both Civilian and Military Defence Team Members.

To log-in:

  • Visit lifespeak.com and select “Group Account”
  • Click either Canadian Armed Forces or Department of National Defence (Civilian)
  • Input client password: canada (*case sensitive*)

Defence Team Members can access help in the following ways:

Referral Agents (RA)s for Civilians – DND employees provide confidential active-listening skills and resources to employees in need and can be contacted during regular working hours.

Contact HR Connect at 1-833-747-6363 to be connected with a readily available agent from 0800-1600 hrs Mon-Fri, or Contact the EAP Corporate Office. A referral agent will be in contact with you within 24 hours.

Health Canada – Employee Assistance Services (EAS) for Civilians

Canadian Forces Member Assistance Program (CFMAP) – Members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Veterans, and their families can access free, confidential counseling, 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-800-268-7708 or TDD 1-800-567-5803 (hearing impaired).

LifeSpeak for Military members and Civilians – As mentioned above, LifeSpeak is a web-based service that offers free confidential access to hundreds of short videos by experts on everyday issues.

  • Visit lifespeak.com or download the app.
  • Select Canadian Armed Forces or Department of National Defence (Civilian) and input corporate ID: canada
