Wellness is a journey, not a destination—and every day, we can take steps toward improving our own well-being.

Wellness Together Canada is here to support you on that journey.

Last year, Health Canada launched the Wellness Together Canada (WTC) (you are now leaving the Government of Canada website) portal to help address the rise in feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression due to COVID-19. This portal offers free and confidential online mental health and substance use support, 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week.

With various public health measures still in place throughout the country, the pandemic continues to have a profound effect on our lives. Because of this, it’s especially important to have easy access to both credible information about mental health and substance use, and evidence-based resources and tools to support our mental health and well-being.

Wellness Together Canada is designed to be used on demand: you get to choose what you need, when you need it.

Through the portal, Defence Team members and our families who are either in Canada or abroad can access supports ranging from self-assessment and peer support, to free and confidential one-on-one sessions with social workers, psychologists, and other professionals. In addition, self-guided resources are available that touch on basic wellness and everything from managing worry, low mood, and substance abuse, to tips on how to strengthen our relationships.

WTC offers services in both official languages and phone counselling is available in more than 200 languages and dialects, through instantaneous interpretation.

As of April 27, over 1.2 million individuals across all provinces and territories have accessed the WTC portal in over 3.7 million web sessions.

Now more than ever, we need to take stock of our personal well-being and do what we can to take care of our mental and physical health, which in turn helps support others and contributes to building more resilient communities.

Remember: Support is always available and is just a call or click away (you are now leaving the Government of Canada website).

For additional tools and services to help you support your mental health and well-being, check out the Defence Team’s COVID-19 Mental Health and Wellness web page.
