#ICYMI: That’s a wrap on Canada’s Healthy Workplace Month 2023!
November 6, 2023 - Defence Stories

Throughout October, the Defence Team recognized Canada’s Healthy Workplace Month (CHWM), through a number of fun and informative initiatives.
Defence Team members are encouraged to learn about the factors that contribute to a healthy workplace, promote practices that help us feel valued, safe, and healthy, and access resources throughout the year.
Let’s take a look back through the last month:
- The month began with a kick-off message from our Defence Team Mental Health Champions, Deputy Minister Bill Matthews, Vice Chief of the Defence Staff Lieutenant-General Frances Allen, and President Federal Government Dockyard Chargehands Association, Wanda Boudreau.
- In line with the weekly themes, Defence Team members will soon be able to watch last month’s wellness webinars, designed to help increase their understanding of mental health and to provide tips on how to build healthy workplace relationships. Recordings will soon be available on the Organizational Well-Being SharePoint site (accessible only on the National Defence network).
- A hybrid Total Health and Wellness Fair took place in the NCR and online October 25, 2023. The virtual version is available here at all times. Explore the virtual fair to find the health and wellness resources available that are right for you!
- Visit the CHWM webpage for more information on self-guided activities, and check out the Wordles here:
Although the month has come to an end, Defence Team members are encouraged to foster a safer, healthier, and more inclusive work environment all year round.
