Supporting Your Well-being During the Holiday Season
December 15, 2023 - Defence Stories
While the holiday season can be a joyful time, it can also be a stressful period and bring about unique challenges. As we start preparing for the festivities, we encourage you to check in on your own mental health and continue to prioritize your well-being. It’s important to acknowledge the challenges that this season can bring and be kind and compassionate to yourself and to others throughout this busy time.
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help you and your loved ones this holiday season. The EAP is designed to support DND public service employees and their family members with a wide range of personal, family and work-related concerns, including access to a self-serve digital mental health platform. Within this platform, you can find helpful professional resources that provide tailored tips and support for this holiday season, such as the following articles:
- Setting Healthy Holiday Boundaries: The importance of setting and maintaining healthy boundaries as an act of self-compassion
- Wellness During the Holiday Season: Practical tips for staying well during the holiday season
- How to Reduce Holiday Stress: Strategies for managing common holiday stressors, such as financial and social pressures
- Stress – Finding Your Balance: Exploring the upsides of stress, and learning how to find balance
