Peace Support Operator (PSO)
General
The PSO course is a specialty to PSTC. This course is given three times a year at PSTC Kingston.
Aim
The course is designed to enable personnel from the CF and other countries to perform the duties of a United Nations Military Observer, Liaison and Staff Officer within a multinational peace support operation.
Training Audience
This course is specific to members deploying in a military observer, liaison or staff position. PSO courses comprise of people from all UN countries and of any occupation, and any element (Reg, PRes, PRL).
Prerequisite(s)
Prerequisites for the course are strictly adhered to. These are as follows:
- be medically and physically fit without employment limitations;
- hold a valid DND 404 and a valid provincial driver’s license;
- be qualified St John’s Ambulance Standard First Aid;
- hold an English language profile of BBB;
- tasked as a Military Observer or member of the International Standby List (ISL);and
- recommended by the Commanding Officer.
