Overview

The Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) Analyst course covers the duties of a PSYOPS Analyst, and prepares students to conduct research, manage PSYOPS Information, evaluate effectiveness, and analyse hostile propaganda.

Aim

The Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) Analyst course is designed to produce an Analyst capable of conducting all duties of an Analyst working in a deployed Analysis Cell.

Content

This course explores various tools and techniques, such as the Target Audience Analysis worksheet (TAAWS), Analysis of hostile propaganda through the SCAME (Source, Content, Audience, Media, Effects) worksheet, questionnaires, interview techniques and focus groups within a PSYOPS context in order to contribute to the PSYOPS product development cycle in support of an operational headquarters.

Pre-requisites and Eligibility

In order to be selected for this training the member shall meet the following prerequisites:

  1. be occupational qualified;
  2. be of Second-Lieutenant (OF-1) to Captain (OF-2) rank for officers;
  3. be of Corporal (OR-4) to Warrant Officer (OR-7) rank for non-commissioned members; and
  4. this course is open to international students.
