2022 Pay rates for officers (Effective 1 April 2022)

Regular Force and Class C Reserve service

Pay rates for officers of the Regular Force and Reservists on Class C service are listed below by rank, within each occupation groups. These are monthly pay rates and they are the latest rates available as of 2023 unless stated otherwise. 

Within each rank there are a number of pay increments (PI) which represent automatic annual increases in pay to recognize advancements in experience, skill and knowledge. Some ranks have several pay levels based on entry plans to the Canadian Armed Forces. See pay overview for information on the factors that determine pay rates.

Legal Officers - daily rates of pay (in dollars)

Pay notes

  • 1. The daily rate for all Legal Officers is effective after a period of duty or training that is 6 hours or more.
  • 2. The rate of a Special Military Differential for Legal Officers at a rank of Lieutenant-Colonel is $39.78 per day effective April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2016 for a period of duty or training of 6 hours or more.
  • 3. The rate of a Special Military Differential for Legal Officers at a rank of Colonel is $50.74 per day effective April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2016 for a period of duty or training of 6 hours or more.
