Military Transition Engagement & Partnerships (MTEP)
What is Military Transition Engagement and Partnerships (MTEP)?
MTEP is a team within the Canadian Armed Forces Transition Group (CAF TG) that engages and collaborates with external organizations to promote synergy within the Military-Veteran-Family (MVF)-empowerment ecosystem. We liaise with external organizations of all types, sizes and sectors who champion for the MVF community.
- MTEP’s vision is to create a structured Trusted Support Network, with intent to maximize support to transitioning CAF members and their families across all Domains of Well-being applicable to military transition.
- MTEP’s mission is to identify, consolidate, mobilize, and leverage what is currently a complex landscape of organizations across Canada that all want to support the MVF Community.
- MTEP works in partnership and promotes alignment with key Government of Canada Departments, such as Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), Chief of Reserves & Employer Support (CRES), Canadian Forces Morale & Welfare Services (CFMWS), Military Family Services (MFS), and other government entities.
The Domains of Well-Being
As part of the modernized Military-to-Civilian Transition (MCT) process, transitioning members are guided in establishing their transition goals along seven Domains of Wellbeing. Vital to the success of each person’s transition plan is that they are able to get connected to trusted organizations that can help them reach their goals. MTEP connects transitioning people with organizations that have been verified and categorized into a Trusted Support Network via a National Resource Directory (NRD).

Serving Members, Veterans, and Families: National Resource Directory Access
Find resources related to the Domains of Well-being as you navigate your MCT experience.
National Resource Directory (NRD)
The National Resource Directory (NRD) is an online database of all organizations that empower the military, Veteran, and family (MVF) communities throughout the MCT transition journey. The NRD has organizations spanning all Domains of Well-being, across all sectors in Canadian society. All organizations in the NRD have been verified and categorized according to their readiness levels to support the MVF communities, thus establishing a truly Trusted Support Network that our people and their families can rely on for quality services.
Military Veteran Family Readiness
Organizations have different degrees of tangible programs, services, supports, and trained personnel to support the MVF communities. All organizations in the NRD have access to organizational mentorship opportunities to strengthen their ability to capitalize on the military value proposition. The overall vision is for every organization across the entire Trusted Support Network ecosystem to move into the MVF Ready and MVF Friendly categories.
MVF Ready
The organization has an established MVF strategy and associated funding programs and is actively promoting the MVF value proposition. Examples include well-defined HR processes, and education, training or professional development tracks that support the MVF demographic, formal integration of Reservist (part-time military service) demographics into your organization and are actively sharing best practices to support the MVF community with other organizations.
MVF Friendly
The organization formally recognizes the MVF value proposition and has a desire to implement an MVF strategy and associated funding programs. Examples include a rudimentary HR process or admission and student success programs, that target the MVF demographic, a willingness to support the integration of Reservist (part-time military service) demographics into your organization, and a willingness to share best practices to support the MVF community with other organizations.
