Overview of the region
The region’s industrial structure reflects its primary and traditional vocation, namely an economy based on its forestry and mining potential. Nord-du-Québec relies on goods and services SMEs, with a strong dependence on the mining and forestry sectors that are exporting more and more of their products and knowledge internationally. It is also home to a number of SMEs offering specialty services. The tourism and agri-food industries help further the territory’s economic diversification as well.
