Project name: 12-9007-047 Mainframe Legacy Application Migration Project (MLAMP)

Description: The Mainframe Legacy Application Migration Project (MLAMP) was initiated to migrate a portfolio of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) applications, components and data from a Unisys mainframe platform to a new GC-standard and highly available computing platform.

Project outcome: In November 2016, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and Accenture Canada mutually agreed to end the contractual arrangement established to deliver on the project, in light of shifting priorities and ongoing transformation efforts such as Benefits Delivery Modernization (BDM). BDM is targeting a complete business process and technology renewal for EI, CPP and OAS, starting with EI, to transform the way in which benefits are delivered to citizens, including streamlining application processes and reducing wait times.
