Error in Canada Pension Plan Updated Earnings and Contributions Letters

Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) recently identified a technical issue with the production of Canada Pension Plan (CPP) updated earnings and contributions letters dated February 22, 2019. The dates indicated in the body of the letter are incorrect, and for a portion of clients, the amount indicated on the letter is lower than the actual payment they are receiving.  In all cases, payments made to clients are valid and accurate.

We apologize for the error, and encourage those with questions regarding the February 22, 2019 letters to contact Service Canada at 1-800-277-9914.

ESDC takes situations such as these very seriously and is taking measures to ensure this issue does not reoccur. Service Canada will be sending correction letters to all individuals affected by this error.
