  • Section: 3.4 - Timeliness of Transaction Processing
    • Change:
From: ‘The CDSP expects that financial institutions will report all transactions in the reporting period immediately following the period in which the business transaction occurred. The RDSP has several critical timeframes that must be respected. These include a 60 day reporting requirement for new contracts, a 180 day limit on reporting contributions and a 120 day window following a transfer to close the original contract. Authorized Agents should ensure that all transactions submitted adhere to these rules as outlined in the ITA and the Canada Disability Savings Regulations.’

To: In Budget 2012, the requirements that new contracts are reported within 60 days, that contribution and Bond requests are reported within 180 days and that transfers be completed within 120 days, were removed. These were replaced with a requirement that the Issuer act without delay in reporting these transactions.
  • Section: 3.5 - Reporting Period Cut-off Date
    • Delete Text:
NOTE: In order to meet the 60 day reporting requirement for new contracts, Contract Registration transactions, which occur during the first four business days of a new production period, may be submitted in a separate file using the month of the new production period in the “Transactions Latest Month" field of the filename.

    • Delete Text:
