Previous bulletin
This information bulletin updates the information bulletin CDSP/PCEI-2015/2016-004-234 dated January 5, 2016.
Purpose
The purpose of this information bulletin is to inform issuers of the new RDSP income matching rates for 2017.
2017 Income matching rates
The Canada Revenue Agency has published the 2017 indexation adjustments for personal income tax and benefit amounts. Based on these published amounts, the income matching rates for Registered Disability Savings Plans (RDSP) for 2017 are as follows:
$30,000 | “Phase out income” – The income level above which the annual amount of Canada Disability Savings Bond payable begins to decrease. |
$45,916 | “First threshold” – The income level that, when reached or exceeded, the annual amount of Canada Disability Savings Bond payable is nil. |
$91,831 | “Second threshold” – The income level below which or equal to the matching grant in a particular year will be 300% of the first $500 in contributions and 200% of the next $1,000 in contributions; or, above which the matching grant will be 100% of the first $1,000 in contributions. |
These income levels will be used when processing all transactions dated January 1, 2017 or later.
