Foreign Credential Recognition Program
The Foreign Credential Recognition Program supports the labour market integration of skilled newcomers by:
- simplifying and harmonizing credential recognition processes
- providing loans and support services to help with the foreign credential recognition processes, and
- helping skilled newcomers gain their first Canadian work experience in their profession or field of study
The Foreign Credential Recognition Program also supports joint initiatives among provinces and territories and other partners to improve the mobility of Canadian workers in regulated occupations as they seek jobs across Canada.
The objectives of the program are to:
- develop and strengthen Canada’s foreign credential assessment and recognition capacity
- contribute to improving labour market integration outcomes of skilled newcomers, and
- support interprovincial labour mobility
