Share your thoughts: Building Canada Strong; Youth in the Labour Market
Current status: Open
Opened on November 24, 2025, and will close to new input on December 19, 2025.
Employment and Social Development Canada has launched a national engagement on youth employment to gather insights on the challenges facing young people in today's job market. These insights will help provide the Government of Canada with critical perspectives directly from Canadians, including youth, on this important topic.
These efforts are part of a broader set of initiatives and investments already in place. Feedback received will inform a path forward, ensuring young people have the opportunities they need to thrive.

Key questions for discussion
The online questionnaire is about youth in the labour market in Canada.
Specifically, we would like to know:
- From your perspective, what are the biggest obstacles facing young people in finding and maintaining employment?
- In your experience, what have you found to be the most effective or helpful programs or activities to help put youth on successful employment pathways?
- What are barriers and incentives to hiring youth?
- Have you observed any gaps in skills and employment support and services for youth? If so, what gaps have you observed?
- What is the top priority to focus on immediately to drive down youth unemployment and ensure youth have the skills and opportunities to succeed in the changing labour market?
Insights gathered from this questionnaire will help shape future initiatives aimed at strengthening youth employment across Canada.
