2010 Federal Budget – Benefits Entitlement and Shared Custody
Previous Information Bulletin
This Information Bulletin updates the Information Bulletin PCEE/CESP-2011/12-001-432 dated April 5, 2011.
Overview
With the introduction of the shared custody provision announced in the 2010 Federal Budget, a beneficiary under 18 years of age could have two primary caregivers (PCGs) in the same month in a given year.
To accommodate this change, the CESP will validate Additional CESG eligibility using the PCG identified on contribution transactions reported to the CESP system by the promoter.
This change applies to transactions requesting Additional CESG that are processed by the CESP on or after July 1, 2011.
