2 Stationary Sources of Combustion and Limits of Sulphur Dioxide and Total Particulate Matter Air Emissions for the Pulp and Paper Sector

The sources of SO₂ and TPM air emissions in the pulp and paper sector considered in this Code of Practice are as follows:

• Boiler
• Recovery boiler 
• Dissolving tank
• Lime kiln
• Thermal oxidizer
• Other stationary sources of combustion  

A description of each emission source can be found in Section 5, Definitions.

The total SO₂ and TPM emissions from these sources for a pulp and paper mill should not exceed the annual air emission limits outlined in Appendix 1; these limits were agreed upon by the Expert Group in December 2011 and approved by the CCME in October 2012.
