This page provides information to support applicants preparing event proposals for the Canada Pavilion at COP31, taking place in Antalya, Türkiye, from November 9 to 20, 2026.

How many events will be included in the program?

Up to 50 events will be scheduled over the duration of COP31. The final number will depend on program design, thematic alignment, and scheduling considerations.

Where is the Canada Pavilion located?

The Canada Pavilion will be located in the Blue Zone at COP31.

Access to the Blue Zone requires official COP accreditation.

Will events be held in person or virtually?

All events at the Canada Pavilion will be held in person only. Pre-recorded remarks may be considered in limited cases but must be submitted in advance.

Who will attend events and how are participants invited?

Canada Pavilion events are open to COP31 accredited participants, including representatives from governments, Indigenous Peoples, civil society, the private sector, youth, academia, and international organizations. Event Leads are responsible for promoting their event and inviting participants, including through their own networks and outreach channels.

Environment and Climate Change Canada will support overall promotion of the Canada Pavilion and its program; however, attendance at individual events cannot be guaranteed.

No formal RSVP system will be managed for individual events within the Pavilion. Event Leads may share event details and invite participants directly, but attendance will be managed on-site based on capacity.

Is there a preferred format for events?

No. A range of formats is encouraged, including panel discussions, workshops, keynote presentations, dialogues, and interactive sessions.

How long are events at the Canada Pavilion?

Events are expected to be between 30 and 60 minutes, with 45 minutes as the standard duration. Requests for shorter or longer events may be considered if justified and based on program availability.

Will I be able to choose my event time or date?

Event scheduling will be coordinated by the Pavilion team. While applicants may indicate preferred thematic alignment, final scheduling decisions will be based on overall program requirements.

What are the specifications of the Canada Pavilion?

Applicants may propose up to 10 speakers. However, only 4 to 5 speakers can be on stage at one time. Event formats should be designed accordingly.

Can speakers participate virtually?

No. All speakers must participate in person.

Do event leads need to attend in person?

Event Leads are only required to attend if they have a speaking role. However, each event must have a designated on-site contact present.

Will interpretation services be available?

Yes. Simultaneous interpretation in English and French will be provided.

Can events include food and beverages?

Yes. Event Leads are responsible for all related costs. Information about the official caterer will be provided upon request.

What technical equipment will be available?

The Canada Pavilion will provide standard audio-visual equipment to support event delivery, including:

Is funding available to support participation?

Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and participation costs.

Will the Government of Canada provide accreditation?

Support may be provided for Canadian speakers who cannot obtain accreditation through other channels.
