Section 16: import of processed asbestos fibres, product(s) containing processed asbestos fibres or consumer product(s) containing asbestos in greater than trace amounts to protect the environment or human health

Use this form to request a permit to import the following in order to protect the environment or human health:

This type of permit is only available when there is no technically or economically feasible asbestos-free alternative available at the time the permit application is submitted. A permit issued under section 16 of the Regulations is valid for a period of 12 months.

Section 17: use of processed asbestos fibres, product(s) containing processed asbestos fibres or consumer product(s) containing asbestos in greater than trace amounts to protect the environment or human health

Use this form to request a permit to use the following:

This type of permit is only available when there is no technically or economically feasible asbestos-free alternative available at the time the permit application is submitted. A permit issued under section 18 of the Regulations expires on the third anniversary of the day on which it was issued.

Section 19: Use of product(s) containing processed asbestos fibres already in Canada to service military equipment

Use this form to request a permit to use the following:

This type of permit is only available when there is no technically or economically feasible asbestos-free alternative available at the time the permit application is submitted. A permit issued under section 19 of the Regulations expires on the third anniversary of the day on which it was issued.

 Use of product(s) containing processed asbestos fibres already in Canada to service military equipment

Section 20: Import and use of product(s) containing processed asbestos fibres to service equipment of a nuclear facility

Use this form to request a permit to use the following:

Use this form to request a permit to use the following:

This type of permit is only available when there is no technically or economically feasible asbestos-free alternative available at the time the permit application is submitted. A permit issued under section 21 of the Regulations expires on the third anniversary of the day on which it was issued.
