Wood preservation facilities, chromated copper arsenate: chapter B-11

11. Transportation of CCA and its Wastes

The transportation of Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) Type C" concentration, solution and the wastes generated by their use is regulated under the federal Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDGR) and the Export and Import of Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Recyclable Material Regulations (EIHWHRMR) under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999).

The recommended transportation procedures are abstracted in Part I, Chapter A - General Recommendations for All Wood Preservatives, Section 11, Table 27.

It is recommended that wood preservation facility operators consult their provincial and/or local regulatory agency regarding any specific requirements for transportation of CCA and its wastes.
