Sisson Mine Project: closed consultation

This consultation ran from February 16, 2019 to June 10, 2019.
The Government of Canada sought public comments on proposed amendments to the Metal and Diamond Mining Effluent Regulations for the Sisson Mine Project.
- The Sisson Partnership (Proponent) is proposing to develop an open pit tungsten and molybdenum mine located approximately 60 kilometres northwest of Fredericton, New Brunswick.
- The objective of the amendments is to authorize the storage of tailings and waste rock in two water bodies frequented by fish.
- To offset the loss of fish and fish habitat due to the Project, the Proponent is required to develop and implement a Fish Habitat Compensation Plan.
