Anthony Housefather
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience
Represents the riding of Mount Royal
Anthony Housefather was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Mount Royal in 2015. He serves as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience. He previously served as Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Services and Procurement, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Labour. He also served as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Jewish Community Issues and Antisemitism and is co-chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Task Force on Online Antisemitism.
From 2016 to 2019, Anthony served as Chair of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights. He serves, and has served, on multiple other parliamentary committees, groups, and associations.
Prior to his election to the House of Commons, Anthony worked at Dialogic Corporation, a multinational technology company, where he rose through the ranks to become Executive Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and General Counsel.
Anthony also served as a city councillor and then as Mayor of the City of Cote Saint-Luc for 10 years prior to being elected federally.
Anthony is active in his community, having served as a volunteer for many years with a number of community organizations. He is also a member of the local swim team. His performance in swimming earned him a total of twelve medals at the 2013 and 2017 Maccabiah Games, an international multi-sport competition held every four years in Israel.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Bachelor of Laws from McGill University, and a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business.
