National pharmacare bilateral agreements
The Government of Canada has signed funding agreements with four provinces and territories to make a range of contraception and diabetes medications free.
If you live in a province or territory with an agreement, those products will be available for free or at low cost at the pharmacy counter. You won't need to coordinate benefits with private insurance plans. Other fees, such as prescribing fees or delivery fees, may still apply.
Through these agreements, we've also provided funding that will help you access the supplies you need to:
- manage and monitor your diabetes
- administer your medication
